How to Deal With a Slither Addiction. Or Not.

Your Behind the Music episode would focus on how it started out as just a few Slither.io games “here and there”, maybe while you were waiting at the bus stop or while in line at the grocery story, and then it became so much more.

It all sort of started out slowly. You didn’t quite understand how the game was played but you thought, heck, let’s just “give it a try” one afternoon. You love the colors and there’s something nostalgic about playing; you feel like a kid again.

And then you eat one of those glowing orbs and your slither snake grows. Instant gratification. And then you recognize there is strategy and tactics and you’re battling people from all over the world and then boom – 5 hours later – you realize you’ve been sitting at the kitchen table while your groceries – forgotten hours ago – melt next to you. You’re hooked.

Is it the colors? The instant gratification? Is it the need to get your name on the leaderboard and be seen by all your fallen enemies? Whatever it is, the multiplayer browser game and your slither snake have become all you can think about.

Who needs real food anyway? Will eating that banana make you the longest slither in the game? Nope! More orbs! You need more orbs! Get a new skin! You need it ALL and you need it NOW.

And then you wake up one morning and realize you’ve been playing too much Slither.io and you need to take a walk outside – without your phone – to see the sun again.  It’s okay, we’re here for you.

The most important thing to know is that there really isn’t too much slither.io! Slither.io is perfect because it’s mobile! You can take it with you wherever you go. So, yes, go buy that banana because you do need to eat, but be sure to bring along your phone and enjoy a game of slither.io while you wait in line at the store.
